My husband and I are currently living in a small two-bedroom basement suite, so I am always on the hunt for home storage solutions. Not only do these storage solutions have to help us maximize our small space, but they also have to be affordable.

So, with us seeming to always accumulate more stuff, especially now that we have a baby on the way, I am desperate for some affordable home storage solutions that work well in SMALL spaces.

Though we regularly purge our house and the stuff we are left with is all mostly stuff we need to live, it’s still a hassle to find somewhere to put it all so we can keep our house from looking like a dump, while at the same time having somewhere to store all our stuff.

If you too are looking for some home storage solutions that are perfect for freeing up some space in a small house and also won’t break the bank or the budget, you can find the list below. If one of these storage solutions interests you, feel free to click on the image below to learn more about it.

14 AFFORDABLE HOME STORAGE SOLUTIONS

1. Decorative Storage Baskets

I love all the different options that there are when it comes to decorative storage baskets. We have several storage baskets around our home, and I can’t get enough of them. They completely spruce up the rooms in our home while serving the purpose of storing our stuff, it’s a win-win!

2. Wooden Storage Crates

When I first started researching different storage crate options, I was bombarded with pictures of tacky plastic storage crates. The kind of crate that you would not want in your house. Then I remembered how much I loved the look of wooden crates, and how they could adorably dress up any room in your house to look rustic and farmhouse-ish.

3. Wooden Storage Basket

The wooden storage basket is a mixture of storage baskets and storage crates, and I love how adorable they are.

4. Cube Storage

Cube storage is such a neat idea as you can place objects straight into the shelves of the cube storage bins, or you can place baskets on the shelves to hide the items you are storing.

5. Wall Shelving

I absolutely love the look of wooden decor in homes, as you can probably tell right now. If you’re not the biggest lover of wooden decor, you can also get a number of other stylish wall shelves that aren’t wooden to store your items in a way that looks good.

6. Under Bed Storage

If you’re pinched for space, grabbing a couple under bed storage bins and containers is a fantastic way to maximize the space you already have. It’s also a good way to store any items that wouldn’t look good being displayed on a shelf.

7. Storage Cabinet

Storage cabinets are a great option as they aren’t permanent fixtures, so you can move them around to different areas of your house if you want to redecorate. They also have doors that will hide the things that you store inside to keep the rooms of your house looking neat and tidy.

8. Ottoman With Storage

An ottoman with storage space has got to be one of my absolute favorite home storage solutions. I love that the ottoman can be used for so many different things like a storage container, a coffee table, a step stool, a footrest, a seat, and more.

9. Storage Bench

Almost just like an oversized ottoman, these storage benches are super handy in offering a place to sit, as well as offering a large storage area inside. You could place these storage benches in various places throughout your house like the front entrance, bathroom, or living room.

10. Shoe Storage Rack

Keep your shoes stored away with these shoe storage containers and racks.

11. Coffee Table with Storage

If you have a coffee table with no storage right now, you are wasting a lot of space. Having a coffee table that also offers storage is a really good way to keep some of those things you like to keep in your living room tucked away so they aren’t laying around.

12. Wall Baskets

Small hanging wall storage baskets are a great way to keep your mail and keys sorted, to keep cleaners all together and easily accessible, or organize other miscellaneous items.

13. Drawer Organizers

I always seem to end up talking about these drawer organizers. I just think they’re such a great idea! With these organizers you can keep all of your drawers, even the junk drawer, organized and tidy.

14. Wall Spice Rack

Wall spice racks are such a fun way to free up some counter space in your kitchen and add some decor to the walls.
