I get it – vacuums can be EXPENSIVE. But, when you keep buying those super cheap ($20 or less) vacuum cleaners and they keep breaking, you’d be better off to spend just a bit more money to get a MUCH more reliable vacuum so you don’t have to keep replacing your cheap one every year.
Here is a list of the best inexpensive vacuum cleaners. Everything you need to know – your complete buying guide.
Someone might tell you it’s the BEST vacuum cleaner around (and the most inexpensive), but how do you reallyknow?
Before you go ahead and buy a vacuum that isn’t the right fit for you, check out our list of the best inexpensive vacuum cleaners and the research that backs it all up.
So – which of these 5 affordable upright vacuum cleaners is the right fit for YOU? That is, after all, what this Best Inexpensive Vacuum Cleaner Buying Guide is for…
…to help YOU find the vacuum that is the perfect fit for… YOU.
This guide is created to help you figure out exactly what it is that you need out of a vacuum. Is it more important to have more cleaning power (which you will generally get in canister vacuums), or would you prefer to have a vacuum that can really thoroughly clean thick, thick carpet (upright vacuums)?
This list of affordable and inexpensive vacuum cleaners was designed to allow you to compare the BEST models, get the best deals, and find the perfect vacuum for your home.
Quick tip: if you’re looking for a small lightweight vacuum with LOTS of power…
This is the upright vacuum that most consumers seem to be the happiest with. And if I were in the market for a new vacuum, it would be my first choice, too.
A couple things I like about this vacuum:
At 13 pounds it weighs about 2 pounds less than most other upright vacuums
It has a 25 ft. long cord (a long cord is important to me since we live in a house that doesn’t have many plugins)
It has a large dirt cup so you don’t need to worry about it over-filling with dirt and hair while vacuuming
The quick-release wand offers 12 extra feet of cleaning length
Reusable filter
An overwhelming majority of the reviewers of this upright vacuum have very positive things to say about it, and the reviews also contain a good amount of HELPFUL information if you’re still on the fence and aren’t sure whether this is the right vacuum for you.
There are, however, some people who weren’t as pleased with this vacuum. While you’re making a decision about this vacuum you might want to take this negative review into consideration.
The biggest problem I’ve read in the negative reviews is that the floor brush continues to roll even when it is being used to vacuum hard floors, or when the hand tool is being used. If the vacuum is left in one place on the carpet while you are using the hand tool, this could cause some potential damage to your carpet.
The rolling floor brush could also potentially scuff up soft wood floors, so if you’re looking for a good vacuum for hardwood floors, this is probably not the best option for you. (Although I could only find one review like this, you can read that review here.)
The best inexpensive vacuum cleaner for carpets and hardwood floors (upright):
If you are looking for an upright vacuum cleaner that DOES work well for vacuuming carpets and hardwood floors, this vacuum is a better option.Right in the product description they mention that it has scatter-free technology for carpets and hard floors.
Reviewers for this vacuum have also mentioned how simple it is to use this vacuum cleaner to go from hardwood floors to rugs.
Reviewers are also mentioning how amazed they are at the quality of the vacuum for the low price. (Keep in mind that this vacuum is a bit more expensive than my top pick, but if you’re looking for a vacuum that works for hard floors, it will be worth the extra cost. Check the current price here.)
If upright vacuum cleaners aren’t what you’re looking for, here are some of the best canister vacuums available:
If you’re in the market for an inexpensive and affordable canister vacuum, these top 5 best-rated vacuums are the ones you want to be looking at. (In fact, they’re not only inexpensive… some of them are down right cheap! You can’t beat a vacuum that’s less than $50 that actually works well!)
? Buying tip: If all you’re looking for is a handheld vacuum to quickly clean up small messes…
It’s bagless, which means you don’t ever have to worry about buying vacuum bags
You don’t have to change the floor attachment when you go from carpet to hard floors (you just flick a switch)
Washable and reusable filters (so you don’t have to buy filters, either)
15 feet of cord length – like I said before, having a long cord is important since we don’t have many plugins in our house
Easy to maneuver
Weights less than 8 pounds (!!)
If you’re not sure whether or not this is the right vacuum for you, reading a couple of the reviews might help you decide.
A large majority of the reviewers gave this vacuum a 5-star rating, saying it is lightweight, easy to pull around, powerful, works on all floor surfaces and is awesome quality for what you’re paying.
However, there are a handful of people who bought this vacuum and weren’t pleased with what they got and only gave it one star. The negative feedback might help you realize that this is not the right vacuum for you.
So, if all you’re looking for is an affordable canister vacuum cleaner – the best vacuum cleaner under $100 – but you’re not worried about it lasting too terribly long, this one COULD be a good vacuum for you. One thing I noticed is that some people weren’t happy with their vacuums, but they bought refurbished vacuums… I would suggest making sure you buy a new vacuum cleaner to help it last as long as possible.
While it is a bit pricier up front, keep in mind that you do get what you pay for and if you can make this vacuum last you for many years, it will end up being a cheaper option than if you buy a new $50 vacuum every year.
This is the BEST vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used and I believe it’s worth its weight in gold. Don’t miss when it’s on sale…
