DIY Sled Christmas Tree Ornament
It’s November now so I think it is acceptable to start posting about Christmas! And what better way than making a fun DIY Christmas tree ornament to start off the Christmas posts.
While I’ve been listening to Christmas music for the past month, yesterday I finally broke out my handy craft bag and started making these adorable Christmas tree ornaments.
How cute are these little guys!
Not only are they adorable, but they are so simple to make!
All you’ll need is:
Once you have everything you need
Take two popsicle sticks and use scissors to cut shorter. Take two more popsicle sticks and use scissors to cut just a little bit shorter than the last two. Take two popsicle sticks and leave them at the regular length. And one more popsicle stick cut shorter (you want both ends sticking over the sides of the sled slightly, this will be used for the front of the sled).
Glue the four popsicle sticks together (using the two longer of the cut ones on either side). Line the tops up and the two middle ones will be slightly shorter at the end. Then glue the last short popsicle stick horizontally across the front of the other four sticks, with the ends of the horizontal stick sticking over the edges slightly.
Paint the two regular length popsicle sticks (these will be the runners of the sled) brown, and paint the completed piece of the sled red.
Now you will be attaching the runners (bottom pieces) to the sled.
Glue the runners to the bottom of the outside pieces of the sled. Allow it to dry.
While the glue is drying on the sled you can take three of your styrofoam balls and glue them together.
Now all that is left is to attach the styrofoam balls onto the sled. Apply glue to the bottom of the styrofoam balls and press gently onto the sled in your preferred positioning.
And lastly, cut your rope to the desired length and glue ends together to the bottom of the sled.
And there you have it, folks! You made yourself a cute little Sled Christmas Tree Ornament.
